Anniversary

Trevor and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary yesterday! I can't believe it has already been two years since our perfect wedding day! Trevor had school all day and then went straight from school to his White Coat Ceremony, so it was a busy day! His White Coat Ceremony was such a neat experience. I'm so glad I was able to be there with him! I am so proud of Trevor for the amazing hard worker he is. He is just going to excel in dental school because of his dedication to his schooling. It's been so fun to see him studying his dental instruments. I kind of like to pretend I'm in dental school too, and try to have him explain what he has learned every day in school.

After his White Coat Ceremony we headed home for some dinner I had made. We had shrimp scampi and salad for dinner, with strawberry shortcake for dessert. We decided to go out to eat last Saturday at Souplantation, because we knew it would be a late night last night. So we got two yummy anniversary dinners. Trevor surprised me with our anniversary gift, it is a Kitchen Aid mixer! I am so excited to start using it! And he is always so thoughtful and got me the most beautiful flowers. It was such a special day! I love being married to Trevor. He is so perfect and I feel so blessed that we found each other. I am so excited for this new chapter in our lives, to become parents. Trevor is going to be the most amazing father. He is already so loving to our baby, I can't wait to see him when our baby is born. I feel so blessed to have Trevor as my eternal companion!

Disneyland

One of the many perks of living in South Pasadena is getting to live so close to Disneyland! Trevor and I are big Disneyland fans, so we have been dying to go lately.
We decided to make our first trip (of many) last Saturday! We got talked into getting annual passes, and  it was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the day and not feel rushed to ride every single ride. I can't wait to go back for Halloween and Christmas time and get to see all of the cute decorations! It will be so much fun to be able to take little baby J when he is born too!
We found this cute little shop in downtown Disney and had to snap a shot of this "dentist in training" :)
As you can see, I (and baby) am getting giant! At our appointment last week, we got another routine ultrasound done of the baby, and our doctor looked at us and said.. "Okay.. which one of you was a big baby?" So I pointed at Trevor since he was 9 1/2 lbs and 24 inches long, and she said "Oh, thats why. This is going to be a big baby!" So little baby J is growing great! (a little too great :) and he is definitely taking after his daddy! He is just comfy as can be and looking healthy as ever. His kicks are SO strong now. It is so fun for other people to not only feel, but SEE him move in my tummy. It's almost like he is doing summersaults in there sometimes! It is the funnest thing for Trevor and I when we lay down at night to watch him kick and move my tummy up and down. He is a little entertainer already!
Trevor is loving dental school, so I am so happy and excited for him! He started working with his hand piece last week for the first time, so I made sure he documented it! I am so proud of him and excited for these next four years! Such exciting times ahead!
P.s. that jar that Trevor is holding is full of extracted teeth that Trevor has been collecting. He had the assignment before school started to collect 300 teeth to work on. Boy am I glad to get those things out of the house!

21st birhday!

Trevor made my birthday SO special! I am so lucky he is my husband! It started out perfect, he made me delicious swedish pancakes for breakfast, and then we headed out to the beach for the day. After the beach we went out to my favorite restaurant for dinner- Olive Garden. I have been craving that lately, especially now that food is FINALLY starting to sound good to me- YAY!
After Olive Garden we headed home to open presents. I had no idea but sneaky Trevor even bought me my favorite ice cream cake!

When I opened the large present in this picture above, it was a sewing machine carrying case- empty of course- with this note in it.
So I looked in the oven... and my sewing machine was in there!! Trevor is SO amazing! I have wanted a sewing machine my whole life! I LOVE to sew, and have just always been able to borrow my someone's for projects that I work on. But now I have one of my very own! I feel so lucky! I went out today to buy fabric to start working on projects for our sweet baby. I am so grateful for Trevor, he always treats me like a queen and always knows how to make me feel special.

Oh BOY!

Our sweet little baby is a BOY!! Trevor and I are so excited!! It was the most amazing experience getting to see our baby moving around, hiccupping, yawning, and sucking his thumb while we were getting the ultrasound done! We are both so in love with him already!
We decided to make one last quick appointment with our doctor in Utah before we moved to California and had our ultrasound scheduled for the day before we move. The whole week leading up to our appointment seemed like a lifetime! The only thing Trevor and I could talk about was "Is our baby a boy or a girl, I can't wait to find out, I'm going crazy!" The night before I could hardly sleep! Our appointment was scheduled for 8:15 am, which isn't so early, except that I had to start drinking water at 6:45. You are supposed to drink 32oz of water at least an hour before your appointment and then hold it and not go to the bathroom clear until the appointment is over. That was the only hard part about the whole day. By the time the appointment came around I felt like I was about to explode, but I didn't even care because I just wanted to know about our baby!
When our ultrasound tech got him up on the screen he was moving around all over the place! He is definitely an active little boy! It took the tech quite awhile to find out the gender because his umbilical cord was placed conveniently right between his legs. So after about a half hour of trying to find out, the tech finally said, "Gosh, that umbilical cord is just in the right place, I almost couldn't see his boy part." I guess we were kind of more expecting her to say, "It's a boy, or it's a girl," so it took a couple seconds to register and then Trevor said, "So wait, it's a boy?!" She nodded her head and we both screamed we were so excited! There were definitely some happy tears shed.
I'm so excited for him to get here! I hope he turns out to be just like Trevor.

It's been so fun to be able to finally start feeling him moving around! It makes me so happy and excited! I just love him so much!

Trevor's 24th Birthday

Trevor's birthday started out with the traditional waking up to the room toilet papered! I loved growing up with this tradition in my family, it's just one extra thing that makes your day feel special, so I have to let Trevor experience it too :)

For breakfast, instead of the traditional breakfast in bed, we decided to go to our favorite breakfast place! It is called Oscars Cafe and it is in Zion National Park. They have the yummiest food, it was so fun to start out the day with Oscars! After breakfast we hiked around a bit in Zion.
Trevor is really cute because he always requests a home-made meal for his birthday dinner, instead of going out to eat somewhere. So for dinner we had potatoes, steak and asparagus.
Trevor's favorite cake is the "Death by Chocolate Bundt" cake. It really is a killer, it's 10 lbs of chocolate heaven. I'm not even going to go into detail with all of the ingredients but let's just say there is a whole MEGA (not regular) size bag of chocolate chips in it. I really think you would probably die if you tried to eat the whole thing. So this is the one time a year I make it, just special for Trevor's birthday. It's okay to splurge on the chocolate just once a year right?

I'm so grateful and blessed to have Trevor as my husband. He is the sweetest man in the whole world! This past year has been such an eventful year and I'm so glad I got to experience it all with Trevor. I feel like I got front row tickets to see all of the hard work he has put into getting accepted to dental school. It was definitely not an easy task. He makes every experience (good or bad) so much better. He is the hardest worker and is so determined and dedicated in everything he does. He is going to be the best dad to our sweet little baby. I just love him so much! Happy Birthday Trevor!

Baby Love

Surprise! Trevor and I are expecting a BABY! We could not be more excited!!
We first found out a few months ago. I hadn't been feeling very well, I thought something was seriously wrong with me. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out and had some slight nausea, but I wasn't really thinking I was pregnant until I had a really neat experience happen to me at work. I work with adults that have mental disabilities and I love my job. One day at work I was reading a book to a client who has Down's Syndrome when she stopped me and put her hand on my stomach and said "You're having a baby!" I told her I wasn't and went back to reading, she stopped me again and said "Yes, you're having a baby!" It kind of caught me by surprise because she was so sure she was right and was kind of upset when I kept telling her I wasn't. I couldn't stop thinking about that experience all day. I went home and told Trevor about it and he was just as shocked as I was. So we decided to go buy some pregnancy tests. I still wasn't thinking I was pregnant and I felt really silly about taking a test, so after Trevor left for work early in the morning, I decided what the heck it won't hurt to just take one test. So I got out of bed, took the test and waited a couple of minutes... TWO LINES showed up. I couldn't believe it! I started crying and let out a squeal of excitement, I had to take two more tests just to be sure that it was real. I called Trevor right away and told him to come home. We were both on cloud 9 for the whole rest of the day. I didn't even want to go to work, I just wanted to talk to Trevor about our sweet baby all day. We have both been looking forward to this day and were so excited it was finally here! It is the perfect timing and we know that we are being so blessed.
I've been feeling really good for the most part, definitely tired and I have my nausea and throwing up times but I'm grateful for those because it means our baby is healthy! Trevor was making fun of me because I woke up one morning and was feeling great. No nausea, no throwing up, just perfectly normal. I started freaking out thinking something was wrong and just kept telling Trevor I wish I was feeling sick. Trevor said, "Be careful what you ask for." Sure enough half an hour later I ended up over the sink in the bathroom. So now I know, if I can get a couple of hours in of feeling great, then I will take it and not complain! :) Trevor has been the best husband through all of this. He is always doing the sweetest things and is so good about making sure me and the baby get what we need.
I'm so extremely excited and grateful for this sweet baby that is going to be joining our family! Trevor and I already love it so much. I look at the cute ultrasound pictures every day, I can't wait for it to get here!

Doesn't it just look so cute already!! Ah, I'm so in love.
Coming December 2013!

Disneyland 2013

The day after we were accepted to Roseman, Trevor was invited for an interview at USC. Even though he had already been accepted, he still thought it would be a good idea to go interview because USC is a really hard school to get into, and just the fact that he got an interview was pretty cool. The USC dental school has been around for over 130 years so it is a really good school, they really know how to produce good dentists. Also, he really likes California and it would be fun to live there. So since we were going down for the interview, we decided to spend a day at Disneyland too!
Disneyland was so much fun! We woke up really early that morning and got to the park about 45 minutes before it even opened. We were there ALL DAY LONG! From 8:15 in the morning till 10:00 at night. If we were able to stay in the park longer I think we would've! We started the day out right, going on Indian Jones and ended it with Its a Small World. We did so many fun rides, everything we wanted to and some new ones too! Our favorites are of course Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean (we did that twice, I could ride that one all day long), Radiator Springs Racers which was new for us, and we also watched the Aladdin show which I hadn't ever seen so it was really fun.
My family and Trevor's family were also in Disneyland, so it was fun to go on rides with them and spend time with them.
This was on Pirates of the Caribbean
Trevor is the sweetest husband ever! He never stops surprising me. While we were on the ride Pirates of the Caribbean, we were talking with my family about how fun it would be to eat at the Blue Bayou because neither me nor my family had done that before. Then Trevor says, oh well good thing I got us a reservation for 2:00 today! I didn't even believe him! It was such a fun surprise. He had to call days in advance to get a reservation there. I love how he is always thinking of ways to surprise me. We got the Monte Cristo and it was the most delicious food I have ever tasted.
 Splash mountain
Mint Julep! Such a yummy drink my family introduced us to. I'm hooked
 Getting ready for Star Tours

 I love this place!
I couldn't even feel my feet at the end of the day from being there for 14 hours, but it was totally worth it!! Such a great trip
