21st birhday!

Trevor made my birthday SO special! I am so lucky he is my husband! It started out perfect, he made me delicious swedish pancakes for breakfast, and then we headed out to the beach for the day. After the beach we went out to my favorite restaurant for dinner- Olive Garden. I have been craving that lately, especially now that food is FINALLY starting to sound good to me- YAY!
After Olive Garden we headed home to open presents. I had no idea but sneaky Trevor even bought me my favorite ice cream cake!

When I opened the large present in this picture above, it was a sewing machine carrying case- empty of course- with this note in it.
So I looked in the oven... and my sewing machine was in there!! Trevor is SO amazing! I have wanted a sewing machine my whole life! I LOVE to sew, and have just always been able to borrow my someone's for projects that I work on. But now I have one of my very own! I feel so lucky! I went out today to buy fabric to start working on projects for our sweet baby. I am so grateful for Trevor, he always treats me like a queen and always knows how to make me feel special.

Baby Love

Surprise! Trevor and I are expecting a BABY! We could not be more excited!!
We first found out a few months ago. I hadn't been feeling very well, I thought something was seriously wrong with me. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out and had some slight nausea, but I wasn't really thinking I was pregnant until I had a really neat experience happen to me at work. I work with adults that have mental disabilities and I love my job. One day at work I was reading a book to a client who has Down's Syndrome when she stopped me and put her hand on my stomach and said "You're having a baby!" I told her I wasn't and went back to reading, she stopped me again and said "Yes, you're having a baby!" It kind of caught me by surprise because she was so sure she was right and was kind of upset when I kept telling her I wasn't. I couldn't stop thinking about that experience all day. I went home and told Trevor about it and he was just as shocked as I was. So we decided to go buy some pregnancy tests. I still wasn't thinking I was pregnant and I felt really silly about taking a test, so after Trevor left for work early in the morning, I decided what the heck it won't hurt to just take one test. So I got out of bed, took the test and waited a couple of minutes... TWO LINES showed up. I couldn't believe it! I started crying and let out a squeal of excitement, I had to take two more tests just to be sure that it was real. I called Trevor right away and told him to come home. We were both on cloud 9 for the whole rest of the day. I didn't even want to go to work, I just wanted to talk to Trevor about our sweet baby all day. We have both been looking forward to this day and were so excited it was finally here! It is the perfect timing and we know that we are being so blessed.
I've been feeling really good for the most part, definitely tired and I have my nausea and throwing up times but I'm grateful for those because it means our baby is healthy! Trevor was making fun of me because I woke up one morning and was feeling great. No nausea, no throwing up, just perfectly normal. I started freaking out thinking something was wrong and just kept telling Trevor I wish I was feeling sick. Trevor said, "Be careful what you ask for." Sure enough half an hour later I ended up over the sink in the bathroom. So now I know, if I can get a couple of hours in of feeling great, then I will take it and not complain! :) Trevor has been the best husband through all of this. He is always doing the sweetest things and is so good about making sure me and the baby get what we need.
I'm so extremely excited and grateful for this sweet baby that is going to be joining our family! Trevor and I already love it so much. I look at the cute ultrasound pictures every day, I can't wait for it to get here!

Doesn't it just look so cute already!! Ah, I'm so in love.
Coming December 2013!

Disneyland 2013

The day after we were accepted to Roseman, Trevor was invited for an interview at USC. Even though he had already been accepted, he still thought it would be a good idea to go interview because USC is a really hard school to get into, and just the fact that he got an interview was pretty cool. The USC dental school has been around for over 130 years so it is a really good school, they really know how to produce good dentists. Also, he really likes California and it would be fun to live there. So since we were going down for the interview, we decided to spend a day at Disneyland too!
Disneyland was so much fun! We woke up really early that morning and got to the park about 45 minutes before it even opened. We were there ALL DAY LONG! From 8:15 in the morning till 10:00 at night. If we were able to stay in the park longer I think we would've! We started the day out right, going on Indian Jones and ended it with Its a Small World. We did so many fun rides, everything we wanted to and some new ones too! Our favorites are of course Indian Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean (we did that twice, I could ride that one all day long), Radiator Springs Racers which was new for us, and we also watched the Aladdin show which I hadn't ever seen so it was really fun.
My family and Trevor's family were also in Disneyland, so it was fun to go on rides with them and spend time with them.
This was on Pirates of the Caribbean
Trevor is the sweetest husband ever! He never stops surprising me. While we were on the ride Pirates of the Caribbean, we were talking with my family about how fun it would be to eat at the Blue Bayou because neither me nor my family had done that before. Then Trevor says, oh well good thing I got us a reservation for 2:00 today! I didn't even believe him! It was such a fun surprise. He had to call days in advance to get a reservation there. I love how he is always thinking of ways to surprise me. We got the Monte Cristo and it was the most delicious food I have ever tasted.
 Splash mountain
Mint Julep! Such a yummy drink my family introduced us to. I'm hooked
 Getting ready for Star Tours

 I love this place!
I couldn't even feel my feet at the end of the day from being there for 14 hours, but it was totally worth it!! Such a great trip

The Best Day Ever

The day Trevor and I have been ever so patiently waiting and looking forward to for over 2 years is finally here!!
TREVOR HAS BEEN ACCEPTED TO ROSEMAN DENTAL SCHOOL!

Saying those words now, still doesn't seem real! I remember months ago, even years ago thinking about how great it would feel to finally have this acceptance, and it is even better than I thought. Trevor has worked so extremely hard for this. He deserves it more than anyone, and I am so glad that his hard work is finally starting to pay off. I feel so blessed to be his wife because I feel like I know better than anyone, and got to see first-hand just how hard he has worked for this and how much time and effort he has put into this. It definitely was not easy. Trevor has spent countless nights staying up until morning studying and focusing so much on his school work. That is one of the first things I fell in love with about Trevor. He always has a plan, and many times two or three back up plans, and he works on that goal until it is accomplished no matter what it takes. I am just so overwhelmed with gratitude for my sweet husband, and my Heavenly Father for this great blessing we have. I can definitely see how we have been blessed throughout this journey so far, and I know that Heavenly Father is taking care of us and has a plan for us.
So here's how it all went down: Trevor applied to 15 dental schools in June of last year. That is when the waiting game first started off. Then we waited and waited 3 long months without any word from a dental school. I still remember when Trevor texted me at the end of September and told me he got an interview at UNLV. I just started crying, I was at work but I just couldn't hold it back. I was so happy for him, because he needed that to show him that his hard work is being noticed. So we practiced almost everyday, going through interview questions and getting ready for November. Then on November 16, 2012, Trevor had his interview. We waited until December 3 and found out we would be considered for the second round of acceptances which wasn't until March. At this point we kind of thought that UNLV would be our only option for dental school, which we were very grateful for, but only having one school isn't the best of odds. So we started waiting again. Trevor was even making back up plans to start a masters program in case we didn't get accepted, which isn't even necessary, that is just how much of a hard worker Trevor is. Then in February, I got another text from Trevor saying he got an interview at Roseman. I couldn't believe it! This was just what we needed, so we headed up to South Jordan on Valentine's Day and I didn't even care that it wasn't the norm for Valentine's Day and not very romantic just traveling, I was too excited about the interview to even notice. After his interview, Trevor said that he felt like it went well, but that we would probably be placed on an alternate list just because it was kind of late in the year for acceptances. Then just a few short weeks later we got this great news! I am just so so proud of Trevor, he is accomplishing his greatest dreams. We couldn't even sleep last night, we just stayed up talking about all of our plans that we can finally start on now that we know. I am just so excited for what the next four years hold for us. I know that with Trevor as my husband, we will be able to accomplish anything that comes our way.
we've been waiting so long to drink that celebration sparkling cider!

never going to complain about going to Walmart again!

So here's a funny story..

Last Friday, I had an extra long day at school, and then an extra long day at work, with foresight of an EXTRA long working weekend. Needless to say, not so much of a happy camper here. When I got home from work, all I wanted to do was take a very long nap (and by nap I mean go to bed at 6 pm). So I asked Trevor to come take a nap with me. You probably don't know this about Trevor, but he is the worst nap taker ever. When I say nap, I think he registers it as lay down for 30 seconds and then it's time to get up and do something with our lives. So when I asked him to take a nap, this is exactly what happened. He laid down for 30 seconds and then got up because he decided we absolutely had to go to Walmart. What the heck? Exhausted+Walmart = worst disaster ever. So of course I was refusing to go. My sweet husband sat in the car for probably 30 minutes begging and trying to convince me that it was necessary to go to walmart, this whole time I was trying to imagine why on earth he wouldn't just go shopping by himself.
So finally I got myself out of bed and went out to the car. The whole car ride I was pulling the silent treatment. When we got to the stop light where you can turn right and go to Walmart, Trevor went straight onto the freeway. As you can imagine, I was very confused. I was so tired and my brain wasn't up for processing things. Trevor had the cutest smile on his face and said, "Surprise! We're going to Zion for the weekend." I looked in the back seat and he had our bags all packed and everything.
What a sweetheart!
And yes. You better believe I felt like the biggest brat on earth.
This was just what I needed. We stayed in the Cable Mountain Lodge, and my whole family was there. Aunts/ Uncles and cousins. And we even got to eat at Oscars in the morning! Such a fun trip.
Breakfast. This picture does not do it justice. It actually kind of looks completely disgusting. But in reality, it is disgustingly good! It is gigantic but I could totally eat the whole thing by myself!! If you ever go to Oscar's you need to try out the Horseshoe
We got back from Zion in the early afternoon and decided to hike the Red Hills in St. George. This was one of my favorite things to do growing up, and this was where Trevor proposed to me so I was excited to show Trevor some of the places where we hike up there.
There is a place on the Red Hills that my family calls "the narrows", who knows if that is really the name, but thats what we refer to it as. This little crack in the mountain is the narrows.
Trevor is brave and decided to try it out with me. This little slit in the Mountain is about 200 yds long and it is so thin it is about 1 foot in width. I hadn't gone through it in a few years, and sad to say I'm a little bigger now than I was then, so it was so hard to squish through there! Talk about claustrophobic! Trevor was afraid he was stuck for a second. It was pretty scary.
If you're ever at the Red Hills, you'll have to try it out!
At the end! Finally able to come out!
I was more scared to stand over it than to wedge my way through it!
Trevor is just the best!

I love St. George!!

Oh Deer!

There has been a deer invasion at the White house.
One morning I woke up, and went into the kitchen to make some breakfast. I could hear something in our backyard, so I went to the window to check it out.
Scared me to death!
These were the two guys who started it all, then they went back and told their little deer friends and now we have five of them.
This guy likes to chill out on our front porch
They're kind of like our family pets now. They all have names and everything.

I may or may not have been feeding them carrots. I'm hoping the whole "if you feed them, they'll keep coming back" cat theory applies here

sprechen sie deutsche?

Tonight was German Night at the White's! It is Oktoberfest in Germany and so Trevor talked me into trying out some of the food he ate from his mission.. scary? Yes.
He surprised me and came out in his classic lederhosen, had to get the full German affect.
So here's what we ate... Rot Kohl (red cabbage), Spaetzle (egg noodles), Bratwursts, and the only normal thing.. Mashed Potatoes. Which didn't actually turn out to be very normal, because apparently German's add whole cubes of butter to their mashed potatoes and loads of salt. I think I gained ten pounds from the potatoes alone.

Best part of the night: chocolate mousse. Thank heavens German's have good taste in desserts.
Ich liebe ihn.
